Growing Deep and Wide
Starts with God
In our Deep & Wide Children’s addition session 2, Tina Truthteller and Nora Newsflash bring the news of generosity around the area, highlighting a local hero who did a great job putting 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 into practice. Professor Perceptive explains the verses: “The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” As always the kids team has a blast and presents the gospel in a powerful way that kids can relate to.

Challenges My Trust
Our City Rise Kids team kicks off session one of our Deep & Wide kids sessions. Tina Truthteller and Nora Newsflash search deep and wide for “all things generosity so that you don’t have to.” They go to Professor Perspective on location who reports on the generosity of God and His abundant creation. God created a fruitful world and gave it to His children. However, the first man and woman disobeyed God’s one rule for them, and sin and death entered the world. But God fixed our sin problem by sending Jesus, who defeated death and rose from the grave. This was the most generous gift of all!

Empowers us to Pray Boldly
Where’s Nora? In Deep & Wide Children’s session 3, Nora Newsflash makes it just in time for the live broadcast of Channel 9’s “Through the Vine.” Windy Weather learns a new meaning of the phrase “raining cats and dogs,” and kids visit the studio to discuss the question, “What is prayer?” One answer to that question is given by Professor Perceptive when he follows up with a teaching on prayer from Luke 11:5-10, the Parable of the Hungry and Persistent Neighbor. Jesus taught us in this story that we should always knock, “and the door will be opened. “

Shifts the Heart From No to Yes
Poor Wendy Weather can’t catch a break in Kids Deep & Wide Session 4 as she is forced to dodge softball sized hail! Tina and Nora are back with “Through the Vine” to discuss getting from “no” to “yes” when it comes to generosity, featuring Wesley, age 11, from CityRise who shares his “yes” story of selling Pom Poppers at his school’s business fare and then giving the money to the church, because, “God knows better what to do with it.” Professor Perceptive then goes on to explain what the Bible says about going from “no” to “yes” in 1 Timothy 6:17-19.
Growing Deep and Wide
IS EXPONENTIAL IN NATURE
The Channel 9 Through the Vine team is back one more time, bringing you stories and teaching about generosity. Tina and Nora break the news about generosity, that it means sharing, helping other people, and spreading the gospel everywhere. We hear what some of the City Rise kids committed to for their wider commitment to the Deep & Wide campaign, from sharing, to donating time, donating money, and being kind. Then Professor Perceptive shares a teaching from John 15:5 on bearing the fruit of generosity by staying connected to the Vine, Jesus.
