Now, it’s going to be different for the time being. We have done our utmost to design a plan that will provide you with a safe and secure environment that corresponds to CDC guidelines and general health precautions. Our teams and task forces have been comprised of some of the top minds, not only within our own congregation but within the city—they’ve prayerfully approached each stage of its development and have made something that is safe, flexible, and adaptable.

If you’ve been following with us all month, you’ll know that we have web pages dedicated to our West U Baptist Family Reunion and Crosspoint Church-Bellaire Family Reunion procedures. But for a highlight version, look no further than the video below, especially if you want a little humor peppered in.

As I said above, this Family Reunion plan was shaped to be safe, flexible, and adaptable. I do not believe we will be socially distanced forever, nor do I think you won’t ever be able to bring coffee into the sanctuaries again. When we’re able to relax a regulation, we will do so as soon as we’re able to.

But even though we will worship differently for a time, we are choosing celebration over lamentation. What a joy it will be to hear the saints singing together, worshiping together, growing once again together. We’ve had two nights of volunteer training over the last two weeks to prepare for Sunday, and I can’t tell you how uplifted my soul has been to see you all again! As long as we’re safe and thoughtful each Sunday, it’s only going to get better and better.

If you are unable to join us because of high-risk concerns, or if you are choosing to wait until a later time, we’ve got you covered! Our Online Experience will continue on YouTube so you can still worship and give from your home. Moreover, we’ve added a fifth online service at 8:30am which will be a livestream of our Classic service at West U Baptist.

If you’ve kept count, starting on Sunday, we will have eight in-person services, five online services, and three languages represented each and every Sunday. No matter where you are, we will bring to you the name of Jesus Christ and study His Word as a family. In the words of Paul to the Colossians,

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another . . . And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3: 12–17)

Have a blessed weekend, Church Family. May the Lord bless you and keep you! I’ll see you (literally) on Sunday!
